Japanese Tote for Mimi-San

{japanese tote}

I love making totes, but I don’t always have time to start and finish one in a single evening. So tonight I tackled this quick & simple tote in Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing (Kaitlyn, I’ll return the book this weekend!), and it only took about an hour to complete. The pattern was also perfect for the fabric leftover from my placemat project. My only suggestion is that you lengthen the straps by about 6″ if you want them to fit easily onto your shoulder.

Lotta doesn’t call this a Japanese tote in her book, but I decided it’s a very Japanese pattern, named it a Japanese tote, and gave it to Mimi (Mom).
